Allow me to introduce myself to you. I am Jeff Sorensen, Township Supervisor. I am a long time resident of Cooper Charter Township; graduated from Parchment High School in 1979. I have been blessed with a wonderful family, my wife of over 25 years, and 2 daughters. I worked almost 20 years with the Cooper Charter Township Fire Department, 12 of those years as Assistant Fire Chief, before being elected as Supervisor.
I was elected to the Office of Township Supervisor in 2000 and I enjoy serving the residents and businesses of Cooper Township.
Cooper Charter Township is a wonderful growing community rich in history, abundant natural resources, and recreational opportunities. I hope you enjoy your tour through out the Township.

Hello, my name is DeAnna Janssen and I’m the Cooper Township Clerk. My husband Jon and I built our home in Cooper Township in 1999 and our kids graduated from Plainwell Schools. I worked as Deputy Clerk for Oshtemo Township for 18 years, during which I also served as Trustee on the Cooper Township Board for 15 years and the Planning Commission for 8 years. I was elected as Township Clerk in 2016 and I look forward to continuing my service to our great community and residents in any way I can.

My name is Carol DeHaan and I am a life-long resident of Cooper Charter Township. My involvement with the Township began at age 16 when I was hired as a co-op student thru Plainwell High School.
I was elected Township Trustee in 1976 and served until I was appointed Treasurer. Prior to being appointed Treasurer in 1997, I had a 21-year career at The Upjohn Company/Pharmacia.
It has been my pleasure over the years to serve the residents and taxpayers of Cooper Charter Township, and I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you about any concerns you may have regarding my office or the township in general.
As the ordinance enforcement officer for Cooper Township, my role is to uphold the integrity and safety of our community by ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations. Conducting property inspections is a cornerstone of my duties, where I diligently identify any violations that may compromise the well-being of our residents or the aesthetic quality of our community. Responding promptly to resident complaints is another vital aspect of my job, as it allows me to address concerns and take necessary enforcement actions. Whether issuing citations, warnings, or providing education about compliance requirements, I strive to foster understanding and cooperation among property owners and residents. Collaboration with other governmental agencies enhances our ability to tackle complex issues effectively, while meticulous documentation of inspections and enforcement actions ensures accountability and supports legal proceedings when required. Overall, I take pride in my role as the Ordinance Enforcement Officer for Cooper Charter Township, dedicated to upholding the standards that contribute to the safety, harmony, and quality of life in our community.
