Requirements

Burning permits are required for any burning other than in a covered burning barrel. A permit may be obtained by calling the Township Office Monday though Friday, or on weekends by calling Chief Terry Emig at 385-3467.

A permit will be issued over the phone if you meet the requirements. If a complaint is received and you don't have a permit number, the Fire Department will put the fire out immediately. In the case of more than one infraction, a fine will be imposed. Week-end permits must be obtained prior to the close of business on Friday.

ABSOLUTELY NO BURNING OF
GARBAGE, WET LEAVES, RUBBER PRODUCTS,
PLASTIC PRODUCTS, OR BUILDING MATERIALS

You must have at least 1-acre to burn and the requirements are as follows:

  • Have Water Available
  • Weather Permitting
  • 50' or More From Any Structure
  • Fire Out Before Dark
  • No Burning By the Road
  • Dry Brush/Leaves Permitted
