Drop Off Station

Cooper Township has one recycling drop off station, Cooper West.

Cooper West is located on "D" Avenue behind the Township Hall and is open the 2nd Saturday of every month from 8 A.M. to 3 P.M. and the 4th Monday of every month from 12 P.M. to 7 P.M.

Cooper East has been closed since April 12, 1999. The McKinley Street site had to be closed due to general misuse and vandalism.

Cooper West will take the following items:

Kitchen metals, colored glass, juice boxes, newspapers, pure used motor oil, wire hangers, aerosol cans (empty), plastic (#1, #2, #3, #4, and #5), milk & juice cartons, mixed paper & cardboard, styrofoam, and magazines.

Cooper West will NOT take the following items:

Plastic shopping bags.

Effective January 1, 1999, please separate aluminum foil from other kitchen metals.

Grass, Leaves and Brush Disposal
State law bans yard waste from being placed in landfills.

Private Pickup: Waste haulers offer weekly pickup of yard waste:

    Drop Off Sites: Best Way Waste & Recycling Transfer Station - 388-3346 - off Miller Road.

    Please contact Kalamazoo County Program at 373-5211 for information about materials accepted and hours.
